Vintage Original DeSimone Italy Hand-painted Girl with Orange & what looks like a dove Ceramic Glazed Vase Rare & hard to find. I rescued it from an estate sale. No chips or cracks. Review all photos zoom in. The orange she is holding has textured it actually looks/feels like the surface of an orange. A must have for any collector of Vintage DeSimone Italy merchandise or have a collection of this maker’s memorabilia. It’s approx 7 1/2” there are numbers & writing on the bottom as shown. Giovanni DeSimone, a renowned Italian ceramicist and designer from the mid-20th century.
DeSimone was known for his whimsical and colorful ceramic sculptures, which often featured simple lines and a cubist drawing style similar to Pablo Picasso.
His work is inspired by Sicilian folk art and often depicts scenes of daily life, such as people in the marketplace, winemaking, & fishing. His daughter carries on his tradition of these hand painted vases Susanna De Simone.
